Budget package implementation

An implementation timeline and details of the voluntary retirement scheme, academic renewal and plans to manage workload and improve business processes are now available on the budget solutions website.

The implementation plan has been finalised following the announcement of the budget package last week by the Vice-Chancellor at a meeting attended by more than 1,200 staff and students. The formal change document is also available on the website, along with details of forthcoming forums.

In an email to staff today, Executive Director Policy and Planning, Chris Grange, said the University would continue to consult staff and students on the changes.

“There will be a period of uncertainty and change while we undertake the voluntary retirement scheme and begin to address the inefficiencies and duplications that frustrate us all.  I can assure you though that we mean to continue this as we have begun – with your input and feedback,” he said.

“I’m confident that if we continue to work on this challenge as a community, ANU will emerge a stronger institution, able to invest in the people, the education and the research that makes this one of the great universities of the world.”

Staff and students are encouraged to keep sending questions, ideas and suggestions for improvement to budgetsolutions@anu.edu.au
